Are you kidding me in saying Brady is the best QB. First of all his career is not over and comparing two QB's from two different era is like comparing apple to oranges. I have my take on who the best QB and truly neither one but I had my pick I selecting big Joe. Montana, spent 14 seasons in creating one of the best organizations on the map. The 49ers were not much before Montana in regards to success. Brady may have Hall of Famers to its unknown at this time its the individual play. If you took Brady and put him in his beginning of career on unsuccessful team he would have failed. He had the right players around him to be successful. Its a team game that's how it works. Career stats for Montana 40,551 yards and 273 TD's opposed to Tom Brady 30,844 yards and 225 TD's any questions. However these stats mean nothing to different era's where the game itself is different. If you wanted to debate Brady with Payton Manning or Montana with Elway then it would make sense.
Any questions on the stats????....ummm, yeah....Montana played much longer....DUH!!!!! and New England was 6-10 the year before Brady took over....do some research fool
Tito, you actually make a solid argument.
Brady can be in this argument, but I don't think he gets the nod. There's one thing Joe Montana owns on his resume that Brady never can:
Montana never lost a Super Bowl. 8-0.
And Montana had longevity on his side. He played for a long time and even led his other team, the Chiefs, to an afc championship game before he retired.
Brady is close, but he has a flaw on his record, and he doesn't yet have the consistent stats to match with the other greats.
If he wins one or two more rings, then this argument changes. But you could say the same if Brees wins or one two more, or if Favre ended his career with a SB win, or even two.
Right now, though, Montana has to be the best.
Tito is just a Boston homer and won't accept the facts!... Joe 4-0... Tom Brady (3-1) *Tuck Luck!.... and you know you had no business winning the Super Bowl that year (2001)! ... Joe Montana was more clutch that Tom Brady ever was!... Plus Tom Brady plays in a salary cap ERA where Joe Montana didn't!.... so the competition was extremely higher for Joe Montana than Tom Brady's Era where their is parity in the NFL today... Joe Montana had to fight off teams like the Dallas Cowboys,Green Bay, Chicago, Rams, All kinds of teams with Super Star players too... So your argument that Tom Brady played with less ... Well so does the rest of the NFL today... Joe Montana had to play ALL-Star teams and that makes it more impressive to me in my opinion.... YOU LOSE TITO... CLEVELAND GUY WINS!!!
All I got to say is Joe Montana's signature play is when he hit Dwight Clark in the back of the end zone to beat the mighty Dallas Cowboys and went on to win 4 Super Bowls... Where Tom Brady's signature play is when the Raiders Charles Woodson batted the ball out his hands causing a fumble then 10 minutes after review was overturned and called a incomplete pass and he went on to win 3 Super Bowls... You tell me who had the better looking career.... Plus Joe Montana was never fed the defenses plays by Bill Billacheat before the snap ever took place... Joe was perfect where Tom Brady is TAINTED!!!! FACTS!!! Read it and weep Tito YOU LOSE!
ummmm actually...the 49ers cheated the salary cap in the Montana years and got caught and got sanctions......know your facts you moron
Good stuff RaiderMike! Tito seems to believe if he says, "You lose! You lose!" loud enough and often enough...it somehow will makes it true.
Pats fan is an interesting character though. If you tell them that Manning is better than Brady, they scream "Stats are for losers! Rings are all that matters!" But if you tell them Montana is better than Brady, they start cherry-picking stats and disregard the rings.
