Scouting Report: Brogan Roback, QB, Eastern Michigan

Brogan Roback, QB, Eastern Michigan

Maumee, OH | 6022 | 210 | 4.72E | 2018

Runs shotgun/up-tempo style of offense, which involves the quarterback to often times throw to a specific spot and features lots of fades. The offense also relies heavily on the screen pass and he is quick to go to his check down. He does spread the ball around and make it through his progressions more than most college signal-callers. Demonstrates the ability to throw on the run, rolling out both to the left or the right and can extend the play in the pocket. Showcases a few different arm angles and will drop down his arm angle down and even throw sidearm on some passes when moving on the run, especially when he is moving to his right. Footwork is inconsistent, will get sloppy and crisscross his feet on dropbacks. Makes poor throws when throwing off his back foot. Has some minor issues with simple fundamentals that can get cleaned up with the proper coaching at the next level. He was suspended the first two games of 2016 due to violation of team rules. Fifth-year senior; a developmental quarterback who needs to polish his mechanics—his ceiling would be a capable backup quarterback if he is able to max out his potential. Will garner attention as an undrafted free agent following the draft.
