Scouting Report: Jaden Wright, DB, New Mexico State

Lewisville, TX | 6000 | 210 | 4.60E | 2018

An aggressive, physical safety who enforces the middle of the field. He possesses quick reactions and the ability to change direction swiftly. Has a nice square frame when sizing up the runner in the open field, to go along with excellent closing speed and is an assuring wrap up tackler. Makes big plays—creates turnovers; generates a handful of forced fumble and interceptions each season. Looks to have limited athletic abilities; not the fastest, doesn’t jump the highest but a pure football player. Loving his helmet to hip tackling like clock-work and working overtime mentality. He missed three games in 2017 due to a hamstring injury. Showcases the ball instincts and coverage ability to play either safety spot and has moonlighted with some punt return duties, making him an intriguing prospect and borderline day three selection.
