Scouting Report: Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville

Charlotte, N.C. | 5106 | 192 | 4.39E | 2019

One of those players who have the knack for making the big play and creating turnovers. Elite ball skills—recruited as a wide receiver/cornerback out of high school and hands show it. An outstanding punt returner with breakaway speed—has been timed between the 4.32-4.47 range in the forty-yard dash. Does an excellent job of jamming wide outs at the line of scrimmage. Relies upon his athleticism more than technique, his footwork needs improvement. Not a great tackler; gets caught up too much playing patty cake with the bigger, physical receivers, which prevents him from making a play. Has concentrated on a better physique and added five pounds heading into 2017, while appearing to be toner. Missed the Wake Forest game in 2015 due to injury. The most laser focused players he’s ever seen, according to Rocky River HS head coach Jason Fowler. Extremely smart, according to head coach Bobby Petrino. His size will ultimately prevent him from being viewed as a number one cornerback but he has the tools to succeed as a number two outside and if not, his floor is a very talented nickelback, which is a valuable commodity in today’s NFL.
