Scouting Report: Keith Kirkwood, WR, Temple

Keith Kirkwood, WR, Temple

Neptune, NJ | 6024 | 220 | 4.48E | 2018

Big, strong, fast. Possesses a thick frame and is going to out muscle most any corner. A true possession wide out who owns a set of dependable hands, much like Rueben Randle (LSU). Lines up all over the field and is not afraid to go over the middle. Does a good job coming back to the football and understands when to help bail out his quarterback. He played some defensive end for the Owls during their 2017 Spring game and recorded a sack, part of the new philosophy implemented by head coach Geoff Collins, who likes his players to learn multiple positions. Head coach Matt Rhule was always trying to get more of a killer instinct out of him. He originally committed to UCLA before switching to Hawaii last second and ultimately transferring to Temple, in order to be closer to home. Highly respected by teammates. Was the first player to earn single digit number in 2017, a distinction awarded to the hardest working players on the team. Suffered a season ending injury during Penn State game in 2015. Has been playing with a sore shoulder throughout much of his 2017 campaign. Overall, he possesses tremendous upside, as a basketball standout in high school, he did not play football until his senior year and his best is yet to come. Due to that, expect him to be a high priority free agent and possibly even a late round draft selection.
