Scouting Report: Micah Kiser, ILB, Virginia

Baltimore, MD | 6012 | 240 | 4.72E | 2018

A downhill, hard-nosed tackler who has combined for 250 tackles during his past two seasons as a starter. Brings plenty of experience having played in both the 4-3 and 3-4 defensive schemes under two different head coaches (Mike London and Bronco Mendenhall). Praised by his coaches and teammates for his high character and has embraced the leadership role. A student of the game who is also an Academic All-American. Bullies blocking backs on the pass rush; many of his sacks came off running backs and being positioned well—often times he was unblocked and had a straight path to the quarterback. A bit stiff in the hips and limited athletically—he will not test well. Speed will be the biggest question mark surrounding this prospect as he transitions from the college level to the NFL. The Baltimore native did seek feedback from the NFL Draft Advisory Board, which he says impacted him returning to school to help improve his stock. He was reportedly given a ‘go back to school’ grade and his forty-yard dash time could dictate whether he is selected on day one or day two of the NFL Draft.
