Frantz was a highly touted prep prospect and backed that up by starting every single game at left tackle during his redshirt freshman season. He stepped right in for Cody Whitehair (Chicago Bears) and there was very little drop off in production from the position and the offense set a school record for yards per carry last season. Frantz would transition naturally to guard at the next level but he certainly could survive on the outside and may be a team’s swing man or backup tackle while starting at guard. He matched up well against Myles Garrett (zero sacks/one assist) in their bowl game matchup. Frantz uses his length well, he has athleticism that belies his weight and size and his hand placement for a first year player is outstanding. He does a great job of striking moving targets and taking a defenders legs right out. Frantz should develop into a quality interior linemen at the next level and should garner a very high pick when his time comes.
