1) Robert Edwards RB Georgia 1994-1998

Edwards began his career as a defensive back. However, in the spring of 1995, Georgia head coach Ray Goff, decided to put Edwards at RB. In his 1st game as starter against the Gamecocks, Edwards exploded with a 5 TD performance. The following week against Tennessee, Edwards had over 100 yards in the 1st half vs. the Vols. However, in the 2nd half, Edwards broke his foot and he was lost the rest of the season. He finished the 1995 season with 325 yards (7.2 average) rushing and 6 TD's in 2 games. Edwards returned in 1996 and based off of his 1st 2 games in 1995 critics were expecting a huge year. Edwards rushed for 800 yards with 9 TD's and a 4.3 average. He battled injuries though out the season, as the Bulldogs finished  5-6. It was in the 1997 season, that Edwards showed what he can do. Edwards had 908 yards rushing with a 5.5 average and 12 TD's. The Bulldogs finished the season at 10-2 record and 33-6 trouncing of Wisconsin , in the Outback Bowl. Edwards rushed for 3 TD's in that game and was selected in the 1st round of the NFL draft in 1998 by the New England Patriots.
