Analysis: Jimmy Graham was snubbed from this year's NFL's Top 100 Players list. And you didn't have to be a Saints fan to think "What were the players thinking?". However using the eye test, and the stats there is no doubt that Jimmy Graham is the NFL's best at this very moment in regards to the tight end position. And yes he is one of the elite's overall in this league. Graham suffered a down year in 2012 due to the Bounty scandal that caused a big hit towards the Saints in the form of their coaching staff. The team being without head coach Sean Peyton took a big hit in terms of play calling, pre-game preperation, and staying sharp on the field.
However Coach Peyton is back, and Graham's down year was still good enough to be second behind only one tight end (Jason Witten-Dallas Cowboys) in receiving yards, and still productive enough to have him at the number one spot on these rankings. His ability to run crisp routes, take advantage of his towering frame (6'7'' 265 lbs) against virtually all defenders, and his unstoppable connection with QB Drew Brees makes him the lethal threat he is today. I believe we'll see a bounce back year from Jimmy Graham in 2013, and that's great news for a Saints team that is looking to get back in the post season.
