QUARTERBACK: Drew Brees/Taysom Hill

Money Invested: $28.291M | Percentage of Cap: 14.3% | Need Level: MEDIUM/HIGH

Overview: Drew Brees contemplated retirement before deciding to return for another two years. Albeit, the Saints need to start looking for his eventual successor; unless they view Taysom Hill as that guy.

RUNNING BACK: Alvin Kamara/Latavius Murray | Depth: Taquan Mizzell

Money Invested: $7.176M | Percentage of Cap: 3.6% | Need Level: LOW

Overview: The Saints are set here with the tandem of Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray.

FULLBACK: Michael Burton/Ricky Ortiz

Money Invested: $1.563M | Percentage of Cap: 0.8% | Need Level: LOW

WIDE RECEIVER: Michael Thomas/Emmanuel Sanders/Tre’Quan Smith | Depth: Tommylee Lewis/Deonte Harris/Krishawn Hogan/Lil’jordan Humphrey/Emmanuel Butler/Tim White/Maurice Harris

Money Invested: $20.918M | Percentage of Cap: 10.6% | Need Level: MEDIUM

Overview: Emmanuel Sanders was picked up to compliment Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith has been productive throughout his young career. Depth behind these three could be upgraded.

TIGHT END: Jared Cook/Josh Hill | Depth: Garrett Griffin/Jason Vander Laan/Cole Wick/Mitchell Loewen

Money Invested: $14.770M | Percentage of Cap: 7.5% | Need Level: MEDIUM

Overview: Jared Cook is as reliable as they come at tight end, and Josh Hill has been productive behind him.

OFFENSIVE TACKLE: Terron Armstead/Ryan Ramczyk | Depth: Ethan Greenidge/Derrick Kelly

Money Invested: $12.473M | Percentage of Cap: 6.3% | Need Level: LOW

Overview: This tackle duo has my vote for tops in the league and they’re still relatively young.

OFFENSIVE GUARD: Andrus Peat/Larry Warford | Depth: Nick Easton

Money Invested: $21.819M | Percentage of Cap: 11% | Need Level: NONE

Overview: Andrus Peat was brought back to ensure they didn’t leave a gap empty on their offensive line, and Nick Easton is a great depth piece.

CENTER: Erik McCoy | Depth: Will Clapp

Money Invested: $2.150M | Percentage of Cap: 1.1% | Need Level: NONE

Overview: Erik McCoy stepped in last year after the retirement of Max Unger and started all 17 games. Not to mention he graded out as one of the top five centers in the league.

DEFENSIVE LINE: Sheldon Rankins/Malcom Brown | Depth: David Onyemata/Shy Tuttle/Mario Edwards/Taylor Stallworth/Jalen Dalton

Money Invested: $22.620M | Percentage of Cap: 11.4% | Need Level: NONE

Overview: The Saints enjoy a aton of depth here and probably don’t even need to add anything inside.

EDGE RUSHER: Cameron Jordan/Marcus Davenport | Depth: Trey Hendrickson/Noah Spence/Carl Granderson

Money Invested: $15.276M | Percentage of Cap: 7.7% | Need Level: LOW

Overview: Cameron Jordan is as great as they come off the edge and Marcus Davenport broke out in a big way last season. Trey Hendrickson proved to be a very solid contributor and rotational end.

LINEBACKER: Demario Davis/Craig Robertson/Alex Anzalone | Depth: Kiko Alonso/Kaden Elliss/Andrew Dowell/Chase Hansen

Money Invested: $19.306M | Percentage of Cap: 9.7% | Need Level: HIGH

Overview: There’s not a whole of needs on this team, so linebacker would top the list for them. Demario Davis has grown into one of the best there is and Craig Robertson has been productive as well. Behind them there’s been a lot of inconsistency and injury, so they’ll need to find ways to shore that up.

CORNERBACK: Marshon Lattimore/Janoris Jenkins/Patrick Robinson | Depth: PJ Williams/Justin Hardee/Deatrick Nichols

Money Invested: $17.562M | Percentage of Cap: 8.9% | Need Level: HIGH

Overview: The Saints brought in Janoris Jenkins last season but his play has continued to rapidly decline throughout his career. Patrick Robinson mans the slot but he’s aging and showed some decline last year as well. Finding guys to eventually replace these two should be one of the Saints’ top priorities.

SAFETY: Malcolm Jenkins/Marcus Williams | Depth: CJ Gardner-Johnson/DJ Swearinger/Saquan Hampton/Chris Johnson/JT Gray

Money Invested: $9.040M | Percentage of Cap: 4.6% | Need Level: LOW

Overview: Malcolm Jenkins is returning to New Orleans to lead their secondary beside the youngster Marcus Williams. The depth behind them is already solid as well.

KICKER: Wil Lutz | Money Invested: $4.200M | Percentage of Cap: 2.1% | Need Level: NONE

PUNTER: Thomas Morstead | Money Invested: $4.300M | Percentage of Cap: 2.1% | Need Level: NONE

LONG SNAPPER: Zach Wood | Money Invested: $1M | Percentage of Cap: 0.5% | Need Level: NONE
