Da’Sean Downey, Edge, UMass

White Plains, NY | 6030 | 230 | 4.70E | 2018

Lengthy, athletic pass-rusher with lean frame, who tends to roam the field pre-snap and can line up on either side of the field standing up. Takes good angles in pursuit, did an adequate job of shedding blocks and demonstrated strong wrap-up tackling fundamentals. Shows no quit and has drawn a high level of NFL interest according to school—five NFL scouts, one CFL scout and a Senior Bowl representative were present in the season opener against UMass. He should receive an invitation to rookie camp and will have a strong chance to compete for a practice squad position as he develops and grows, there is some upside to like here.
