The chase for the Vince Lombardi Trophy is down to eight NFL teams entering the divisional round of the playoffs.
The first game on the schedule will feature the sixth seed Minnesota Vikings, fresh off their upset win over New Orleans, visiting the San Francisco 49ers, who will be making their first playoff appearance since 2013 and enter the matchup as a touchdown favorite. The other NFC team who will be hosting a playoff game includes the Green Bay Packers, led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who welcome in the injury-riddled Seattle Seahawks.
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens remain Super Bowl 54 favorites as per My Top Sportsbooks, with a matchup against the spunky Tennessee Titans looming in the Divisional Round. Baltimore is as short as +185 at some sites, giving them a 35% chance to win the Lombardi Trophy, despite still need to win three games. Somewhat curiously, many oddsmakers have the Chiefs even with the 49ers as second favorites at +350, despite residing in the AFC with Baltimore. Given the strength at the top of the conference, it’s no surprise that both Tenneessee and Houston are basically being written off at around +2200 and +3500, respectively.
However, while Vegas seems quick to write off the Titans, there is a growing sense amongst league insiders that Tennessee could actually pull off the upset over the Chiefs, who enter the contest as double-digit favorites. Kansas City rallied down the stretch of the season to win their final six games. However, their last defeat came at the hands of, you guessed it, the Titans on November 11th, as Tennessee edges out Kansas City by the score of 35-32.
It’s sure to be another wild weekend of playoff action, make sure you check back as we count you down to Super Bowl 54 and preview the big game!
