NORVEL ‘DJ’ STEWART | Rhode Island | DB | 6014 | 210 | 4.62 | Hartford, CT | Bloomfield HS | Class of 2019
Overview: A team captain and stalwart at Rhode Island, Stewart is quick to make his presence made on the field with a physical style of play. However, he has bulked up an added an additional 10 pounds top his frame and could be best suited at linebacker. Stewart owns excellent length, understands how to shed/disengage blocks and plays the run very well, especially on the perimeter. He appears to be very comfortable in the box, pursuing the ball carrier and playing at the line of scrimmage. He has been training in Connecticut with former UConn Huskies/New York Giants running back Andre Dixon and trainer Antwan Harris in preparation of his next opportunity. Stewart will participate at the National Scouting Combine in Indianapolis (February) and Rhode Island pro day (March), where he’s expected to showcase his improved athleticism and speed; expected to run in the 4.60-range.
