Overview: Drew Carson has a great first step and tackle breaking ability. On his way to averaging 4.6 yards per carry he broke a lot of tackles and pushed piles forward for first downs. Carson shows a good first step as well as patience to read blocks and slip through a hole to pick up the necessary yardage. Runs with good pad height and has the speed to get to the next level of a defense when a hole is opened up. Has good hands and can catch the ball out of the backfield and can stay in and block reliably in pass protection as well. Drew is a true multi purpose back.
Background: Hometown Madisonville Tn. Son of Corey and Crystal Carson; has 4 siblings and he is a loving father to his daughter. Attended Sequoyah High School, where he played football and track and field. He has 17 yrs combined experience playing football. Drew was a volunteer coach for Pros & Kids football camp where he coached with former NFL players. He reffed 7 on 7 games and he also worked at the school fitness center. He volunteered time to help with little league practices in his hometown during visits back home. At Union, he received his Bachelor’s of Science in exercise science and minor in media communications. He was invited and attended 2 American National Combines in 2020 where he received verifiable measurements and stats. Drew is currently working at Gold’s gym awaiting his opportunity to play professional football.
High School: Drew played on the varsity football team as a Sophomore and was a full time starter Junior and Senior year. He is a top stat holder at Sequoyah. Positions were special teams on kickoff, OLB and RB. Notable accomplishments were All district, All county, Max Preps #22 top rusher in the state of TN 2013, Chief of the week, 6 mvps Offense SR yr, 1625 rushing yards 205 carries, 1715 All purpose yards. He was an integral part of Sequoyah’s 9-3 record in 2013 where they advanced to 2nd round of the playoff championships. He broke 2 school records during his Senior year on the Track and Field team for long jump and 4X4 relay team. He ran a 4.49 in the 40 yard dash as a redshirt freshman at Bethel University. He attended Union College where he played football 2017-2019. Positions were special teams kickoff return and punt return, RB and FB. He has 17 yrs combined experience playing football.
