Overview: A highly accurate and consistent kicker, Lacayo. He set an All-Arena/Indoor record of 30 field goals made in a season, and set a CPIFL record with a 55-yard field goal against the Salina Bombers. Ernesto also kicked a 51-yard game-winning field goal against the Dodge City Law to put the Wild in the CPIFL Championship. He also participated in the College Gridiron Showcase pro free agent workout, where he nailed a 60-yard field goal, so he checks off the boxes when it comes to distance and leg strength. He has stayed sharp by working out with former NFL kicker Nick Novack, who vouches for his talent as an NFL level leg. He also trains with NFL Legend John Carney and ex NFL Special Teams Coach Gary Zauner. Coaches have praised his professionalism and approach to the game. Lacayo re-wrote the record books at Hastings College, leaving with every kicking record in school history and continues to chase his dream, even sleeping in his van outside of the Carney training facility, in order to improve his craft—a true testament of his dedication.
