Overview: A four-year starter who finished his career making 39 consecutive starts, DeLeone has been a staple of consistency for URI. Played in a spread punt scheme, which required him to snap and cover. DeLeone does an excellent job with his footwork when transitioning from snapping to blocking. Has improved his athleticism, while adding approximately 20-plus pounds since the end of his collegiate career. Demonstrates precise, quick snaps for both short and long snapping; fluid motion and fundamentally sound technique. Was timed at .74 seconds on average on long snaps and .48 average on short snaps by Ric Serritella (NFLPA Bowl scout) during TEST Football Academy pro day workout.
Career: Started four seasons for the Rams, making his college debut on 10.15.16 at Stony Brook. Four-time CAA Football Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. Participated in the 2020 College Gridiron Showcase (January), Husted Camp (January) and TEST Football Academy Pro Day Workout (March).
Background: Son of Paul DeLeone; has one brother, Dominick. Attended Millburn High School, where he played football, hockey and lacrosse; team captain in football as a senior. Rated as a Top 3 long snapper in New Jersey by STS in 2015. Rated as a 4-star long snapper by Kohl’s. Was a member of Studio 462, Millburn’s channel for broadcasting sporting events. Volunteered helping coach youth football. Majored in Journalism and hopes to be a sports broadcaster.
