Overview: An extremely athletic tight end, Black possesses and excellent combination of size and speed. Blessed with a great frame with room to grow, he flashed the ability to make plays during his time with the Blazers. During his senior year, he racked up three games in which he totaled over 60 yards, including back-to-back games of finding the end zone. Black is a smooth athlete who can run all of the routes required at the next level, while showing phenomenal body control and fluidity coming off the ball. He has the ability to separate down the field as well as help in pass protection or open up holes in the run game. The Mississippi native displays a great catch radius and shows the ability he can make the necessary adjustments to catch errant passes. He also shows consistent hands and the ability to pluck a ball out of the air instead of catching with his body. A smart athlete who excelled both on the field and in the classroom (graduated with a 3.5 GPA and made the Dean’s list), Black definitely won’t struggle picking up a playbook. His overall upside presents an intriguing skill-set for teams in need of a combo tight end, with the versatility to also be used as an h-back or fullback as well.

Background: A transfer from Mississippi. Finished career at Belhaven, where he caught 15 balls for 645 receiving yards and two touchdowns as a senior in 2019, earning All-American Southwest Conference honors. Earned his degree in general studies. Has interned in Sports Administration & Recreation.
