Harris was the top rated runningback on a number of different recruiting services but he’s been called “one of the most impressive running back recruits to come out since Reggie Bush” by one scout. He’s a huge 6’1” kid that transfers his weight extremely well, excels at jump cuts and has elusiveness that belie his prototype size. Najee Harris plows through contact, drags would be tacklers with him and has great understanding of distance/angles. He is a work in progress as a receiver but he all the tools with quality ball skills, terrific coordination/body control and outstanding leaping ability to go for jump balls. If he wasn’t such a gifted and powerful runner, he could be a very effective H-back or safety with his range, vertical presence and hands. Harris has never been “the man” in Tuscaloosa but there’s no way a talent like this will go untapped for his entire career, so expect to see flashes of greatness from this intriguing blend of Todd Gurley and Le’Veon Bell with his versatility and anticipation.
