Scouting Report: Orlando Brown Jr., Oklahoma

Duluth, GA | 6072 | 360 | 5.38E | 2019

Orlando Brown Jr. has started every single game at left tackle for the Sooners since the beginning of his redshirt freshman season. He has immense size, tremendous base strength and a real nasty streak that he flashes in the running game. Brown excels at wham blocks, he understands trap concepts and would thrive in a power based run scheme. He does not hit moving targets well and although he effectively gets into the second level, Brown is a little sloppy in his striking on opposing linebackers. He has quality NFL-bloodlines, as he is the son of Orlando “Zeus” Brown who played for the Ravens and Browns, paving the way for a 2,000+ rushing yards season by Jamal Lewis in 2003 for Baltimore. Much like his father, Junior has a rare combination of length, width and movement skills that make him applicable in the “Planetary Theory”; There simply aren’t many human beings on Earth that are built like that. He is currently being coached up by former Sooner and New Orleans Saints All-Pro Jamaal Brown (no relation). Orlando Brown profiles as a player that could play both left and right tackle at the next level.
