In one of the most evenly contestested Super Bowl matchups in recent history, the Kansas City Chiefs remain a slight one-point favorite over the San Francisco 49ers. Super Bowl LIV is scheduled to take place on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. There are sure to be some movements on action leading up to the 6:30pm eastern time kickoff but early indications are points will be scored early and often.
The opening game total of 51.5 has been bet up to 54.0 as of Friday morning, eliminating much of the value that existed. Bettors looking to capitalize on what should be a high-scoring game can still find value in some props, though. That’s one of the main reasons to pick new sportsbook is their unique prop bets available to bet on. The over on Jimmy Garoppolo’s passing yards (299.5) and the under on Damien Williams’ rushing yards (52.5) are two that should hit if the game plays out as a high-scoring, back-and-forth battle.
There were several occasions this past season where Garoppolo was forced to keep up with opposing up-tempo offenses, such as the 49ers matchups against the Cardinals and Saints. In two games against the high flying Cardinals, Garoppolo accounted for 741 passing yards. When he faced Drew Brees in a 48-46 shootout on Sunday night football, Garoppolo tossed 349 passing yards and four touchdowns. It appears the 49ers will be involved in another high scoring content on Super Bowl Sunday, meaning Garropolo is likely to exceed the 300-yard barrier once again.
For Williams and the Chiefs, in 13 games played this season (including the postseason), he gained more than 52 rushing yards just four times all year. Since the Chiefs like to spread the ball around the field and employ a running back by committee type system, the under for his rushing total seems like a solid play.
